As an introduction to Tuscany, begin the experience with visit to historical Pietrasanta in the foothills of the Apuan Alps. As you explore during free time, be sure to see the 16th-century Fountain of Marzocco, the Cathedral of St. Martin and sections of an ancient wall from Roman times. Then you’ll head to the Bocelli’s exclusive Alpemare Beach Club in Forte dei Marmi where you’ll be treated to a tasting of classic wines from the Bocelli family vineyard in Tuscany that they have owned since 1730. The wines will be paired with seafood appetizers that perfectly complement their characteristics. To enhance the experience, your guide will describe the nuances of the wines and how they are produced. A sumptuous three-course Tuscan lunch follows, accompanied by another selection of Bocelli wines.

Your immersion into all things Roman will begin with an enlightening drive through the Eternal City, during which you’ll spot icons such as the Colosseum, Trevi Fountain and Circus Maximus, the massive stadium where the Romans once held chariot races. Then you’ll ascend Monte Mario, the highest hill in Rome, for a sweeping view of the city from the restaurant Lo Zodiaco. One of Rome’s best kept secrets, this spectacular hilltop restaurant will also serve as the venue for the private piano concert of Italian classics with an accomplished singer as accompaniment. During the inspired lunch that follows, you’ll enjoy wines from the Bocelli family vineyard in Tuscany – the perfect complement each course. The sommelier will describe the characteristics of the wines and how the Bocellis produce them. Afterwards, you’ll have the opportunity to view even more iconic landmarks such as St. Peter’s Square while exploring Vatican City.
